THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Integrative Therapy
I use an integrative approach pulling from multiple practices, in order to provide the most individualized services to those I work with. Integrating techniques from cognitive therapies with the unstructured components of narrative therapy offers many benefits. This allows for the opportunity to share and process your story in your way, while taking time to notice and reflect on your thoughts and feelings along the way. This can be helpful in many ways, including processing past traumas, managing and improving depression, anger, and anxiety, addressing self-judgement and guilt, and identifying ruminative and false thoughts.
PHONE CONSULTATION
In order to ensure that this is a right fit, for both you and me, I offer a one-time complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. We will use this time to go over what is bringing you in for therapy, and your goals for the service. We will also review my experience and specializations, and determine if I am the best therapist to meet your needs. You are welcome to ask any questions that you might have, and if desired, we can schedule your initial session appointment at this time. Please refer to the "Contact" page to schedule a consultation.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual therapy is an opportunity for you to determine the specific areas of your life that you would like to work on changing, and start the work of changing them. Whether you feel your thoughts and moods are out of your control, your value system is misaligned with your sense of self, or you are just not living the life that you imagined you would be living, individual therapy is the time to focus on you. After identifying your goals for therapy, we will spend our time together exploring where the work needs to be done and developing the skills necessary to improve these areas. An individual session is scheduled for 50 minutes.
COUPLE THERAPY
Couple therapy can helpful in similar ways to an individual therapy process. In couple therapy, a couple is given the opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors together, and how any of these from either individual may be impacting a partner. The couple is given the opportunity to explore their sense of identity as a couple, as well as their goals and expectations for the relationship and each other. It is common in couple therapy to explore values, communication, and roles. A couple session is scheduled for 75 minutes.
